design life.

I’ve always had an interest in art and design ever since I started school. I started tooling around in photoshop when I was about 13 just starting middle school and designed my first website called ‘Moto Design’ which I took requests to make forum signatures and custom wallpapers. It got so popular that I took on a staff and created a bigger company amply named ‘Blast Design’ and started an art community. In a short period of time I quickly gained 200 members that kept me and my staff busy with requests for different designs.

Although through a process of building a company there where problems and I realized that I wanted to a different project and take my current project and spin them into a new direction so I closed Blast Design to the public but still selling space to clients and close friends. Started doing commercial designs by contract and I wanted a place to showcase them so I created a portfolio named ‘Color In Pixels’ after a while I still found myself busy with new clients and decided to take CiP from a portfolio into a business.

After a while a realized that I really didn’t feel like managing two sites or even more than that. So again I went on the name adventure, trying to figure out what to name a new company that would combine both of my companies and offer the same services and a couple of new ones in the I.T. field. D.R. Creative was the answer, a little generic I know, but I liked the letter combination (drc) and I went to work again trying to create a new website.

I’ve lost touch with the design scene over the years and its lost the luster and fun that once made me want to design for a living. I still keep in contact with some friends from the beginning but most have moved on.

school/work/social life.

Graduated in 2005, and I’m currently planning on attending Baker and working part time. I was at MCC were I was planning on getting an eBusiness degree from but then realized that wasn’t what I wanted out of life, sure design work is fun, web servers even more, but getting that degree wasn’t going to put me where I wanted to be, also they didn’t have what I was looking for or the class quality to back it up.

I do freelance web design work, and manage a few web, game, and VoIP server(s). I also do contract I.T. work for several businesses in the area, fix their stuff when it goes down. I’ve also worked at R.J. Woodworking for 4 years I am their graphics/promotional material/website designer, build/fix/manange computers & servers, or whatever the feel like having me do daily guy.

Muskegon, Michigan a town not known for its things to do growing up, but known for never have a month where there isn’t a beer tent somewhere. I like to mess around with computers and electronics . I like hang out with my friends, play games and such, listen to music, and party of course. When I was going through high school I had two sets of friends, one from my high school where I was 20% of the time that I was supposed to be. The other was a group of friends that I met through my cousin Aaron when he decided that he was going to start a xbox news site and we all started working at. Most of my time was spent with the former than the latter not like I regret it, but ever since graduation I realized that I ditched some of my good friends and have been trying to make up for it.

In 2010 along with graduating Baker with my associates degree I started working for the company that I did my internship with in college. Michigan Spring and Stamping has been my employer for the last 8 months now and I hope to continue working with them.
